Joe Perez

Co-Founder, Tastemade & Senior Advisor, USC Center for Body Computing


Joe is an entrepreneur, advisor and Internet product executive with over 17 years of experience in technology, media and health. He is founder at Tastemade, and drives product and marketing at the company. The Tastemade apps and platform now serve an audience of over 100 million viewers each month, in multiple languages all over the world.

Joe has been focused on every detail of the Tastemade brand. He led the effort to name the company and has dedicated much of his time to growing the community. He has also created many unique experiential marketing programs to bring the brand to life.

Most recently, Joe was EVP of Product and a founding team member of Demand Media (NYSE: DMD) where he spent the last six years building products and communities for one of the largest networks on the Internet. Prior to Demande Media, Joe was SVP of Network and Operations at Intermix Media, parent company of MySpace (acquired by Fox Interactive Media), where he was responsible for building and operating the online gaming and social media platform group. Previously, Joe was an executive in Silicon Valley where he worked for a variety of technology and gaming startups including TEN/ (acquired by EA), and Excite@Home.

Joe currently serves on the advisory board of the USC Center for Body Computing (CBC), whose mission is to bring together business and research innovators to study, accelerate and create digital health solutions.
